How long does it take for vision insurance claim to go through?I currently have vision insurance through work. I've only had it a couple months (as I've just started working), and now annual enrollment is coming up. I would like to be able to have my eyes checked and get new glasses, then drop the insurance, since it only covers these services once every 2 years.

I was only able to get an appointment for the beginning of December, and my new insurance choices will take effect Jan 1 2010. Is that time enough for everything to be taken care of, without me having to pay extra because I dropped my insurance? Or, since I got checked out while I was on insurance, will it just cover, regardless?

I have Davis Vision (the only choice)

Your insurance will have to cover any services that occur while you have coverage. If you are covered until December 31st and you get an exam that day, as long as the dr's office puts the claim in that day you will be covered. So just check with the dr. to make sure they date your claim the day you receive services (which i think legally they have to do anyway.)
