Posted by been there done that
1. Dental is $ 556/yr and vision is $ 324/yr. 556 + 324 = 880
Divide by 12 to get month amount = 880/12 = 73.33
Add to health insurance of $ 225 = 225 + 73.33 = 298.33/month

2. $ 4856 x 20% (James' portion) = 971.20
Add all yearly premiums together = 971.20+ 625 + 375 = $ 1971.20
Divide by 52 (number of weeks in a year) = 1971.20/52 = $ 37.91 is the weekly deduction

3. Hospital bill is $ 2300 and Fidel has to pay 20% = $ 460 + $ 300 copay = $ 760

The object here is to get all values into the same 'units' ... be that per year, per month, or some other measure.

1.
Since the 556 and 324 amounts are 'per year', you need to convert to a monthly amount,
then add that to the 225

225 + (556 + 324) / 12 = $ 298.33 per month

******************

2.
These costs are all 'per year' amounts ... just add them up,
then convert to weekly amounts.

0.2 * 4856 + 625 + 375 = 1971.20 per year
1971.20 / 52 = $ 37.91 per week
