The package says not to use on anyone under the age of two.

Use saline solution, you can get it from the pharmacy or make it yourself. About 1/4 teaspoon salt in a cup of cooled boiled water and wipe it gently across babies eye with a cotton wipe or soft cloth from the inside out.

I should just add that saline is very safe, I used it on both of my girls and myself many times. Many people forget that salt (saline) is actually a natural antiseptic

No, you cannot. Visine eye drops are not recommended for younger children:

"Visine Eye Drops are not recommended for use in CHILDREN younger than 6 years of age. Safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been confirmed."

Take your baby to their pediatrician and ask about recommendations for what to do.

ask a doctor, I would never give my baby anything before checking with them 1st. specially for an eye inflammation that sounds like a serious thing! I'd be at the ER if there was something with my baby's eye like that

Visine is a very strong vaso-constrictor. It also has an ingredient in it that's very toxic, causing lethargy, reduced blood pressure and heart rate if orally ingested. A 6 month old with inflamed eyes is likely to tear up with eyedrops and have some run down his face. Toddlers have been hospitalized with lethargy so severe that the only response they made was to sever pain stimuli after ingesting 2-3 ml. Wait until tomorrow and call your doc. Or look at the saline recommendation another poster gave you-- saline is safe.
