How long do you hold eye contact with your teacher?I like to make eye contact so the teacher knows I am paying attention and listening, although, I cannot maintain eye contact for a long period of time as it feels a little creepy.
For example, when you hold eye contact in a relationship, it's sweet, but when you hold eye contact so long with a teacher, it doesn't feel right.
So I usually make eye contact but be sure to take my eyes away every other second so our eyes aren't locked!

If you stare at her like a zombie, she'll think you're weird. But her eyes should be on ALL of the class, not just one, so I don't think this is a terribly serious issue. You probably have to look at book ages and the board as well, so just do what's comfortable.

An experienced teacher will know if you are actually paying attention by looking at your face and from the answers you give to questions raised during discussions in class.
