Are you going for glasses or contact lenses? The exam for glasses is probably between $ 30-$ 50 and the exam for contacts will run you $ 50-$ 80. If it's for contacts and you've never worn them before.. expect to spend $ 30 more for training/trial lenses/1 week follow-up.

It depends if you're having a routine exam or a routine exam & a contact lens exam. Walmart employs optometrists who charge less for the exam compared to ophthalmologists. The dilation is done to check the health of everything in the back of your eye (retina, optic nerve, optic disc, etc... & is usually included in the exam charge.
Call Walmart so you're prepared for your appointment. They'll be glad to reschedule if you don't have the funds for it now.
