Pressure behind left eye when exposed to light? When my left eye is exposed to light, I feel this dull pain (like pressure) that reaches to the left of my eye, behind my eye, and even up to my eyebrow. It's only been going on for about 2 days. I have to set up my annual eye doctor appointment soon anyway, should I just wait until then to ask my eye doctor what's up?

It could be two things that I know of:
1. An occular migraine. Basically a headache in your eye.
2. Sinus pressure.
Go ahead to your appointment. If you start to see flashing lights, a black curtain going up or down, or any other vision changes go see your eye doctor asap.

This is what is known as "photophobia". There are several causes. If your eye is also red and painful, it could be an inflammation of the eye. I would suggest going to your local eye hospital to get it looked at by a doctor, rather than an optometrist, if your eye is red or your vision is affected. Better safe than sorry!
