Is it safe to use the same pair of contacts after Pink Eye / conjunctivitis ?I have Pink Eye right now. I know not to wear any contact lenses for a few days after the symptoms are gone. I was wondering if it is safe to wear the same lenses that I had before I got Pink Eye, or do I have to get new ones? Is the daily disinfecting solution capable of killing the virus and bacteria that causes Pink Eye?

No, you need to throw those contacts away and get new ones. Why risk re-infection?

Unfortunately, as a part of your pink eye treatment, you'll have to throw out your contact lenses and any carrying case that you used for them. Because pink eye is often caused by a virus, the infection can be spread by your contact lenses. Whether you wear hard or soft contact lenses, once they are contaminated by pink eye, they cannot be sterilized using either your usual disinfectant solutions or hydrogen peroxide.
Before wearing a new pair of contacts, you should wait until your eyes are totally healed. Since your corneas, the clear dome-shaped covering over your eye, may be infected with the same virus that causes pink eye, it may be wise to have an examination by your eye care provider before starting contact lens wear with fresh lenses.

No, put in a new pair. those lenses could carry the bacteria that caused the pink eye and infect your eye again.

You'll need a new set of lenses as well as a new case -- I've seen a few cases of people re-infecting themselves by reusing an infected lens case.
