What part of Science deals most closely with Ophthalmology?Other than biology, I was wondering what part of science (chemistry/physics etc.) is most used in ophthalmology.

Thanks!!!

The opthalmologist is an MD or DO, a regular doctor who went on to specialize in the eye. They do eye surgery. An optometrist goes to college, majors in a science usually, and goes to optometry school. They study eye diseases also, and specialize in refraction.....physics. If you're interested in this field, study all of the sciences to give yourself your best chance.

Optics (physics).

The onderstanding of light is critical, as is pertains to the function of the eye as well as diagnosis (retinagrams) and treatment (laser surgery).
